Coming Soon: Chris Farmer's Tribute To The Beach Boys Wednesday, August 15, 2012 @ 8:00 PM SVCAC continues their Tribute Wednesdays Unplugged Acoustic Rock Series with Chris Farmer, former musical director and 12 year member of the Beach Boys on Wednesday, August 15th at 8 pm. Chris Farmer spent twelve years on the road with The Beach Boys, playing bass and singing every vocal part. Upon Carl Wilson’s untimely passing in 1998, musical director duties fell upon Chris. “We always included a couple of a capella or stripped-down numbers in concert to showcase Brian Wilson’s beautiful vocal arrangements. Even if we were playing for tens of thousands of people at a huge outdoor festival, it was important to me to let the folks know where this music had started – sitting around the living room, strumming accoustic guitars and harmonizing as only a family band can.” With that in mind, former musical director and bassist/vocalist Chris Farmer and his band will perform not only the familiar hits, but will also sprinkle in just the right amount of “hidden chestnuts” that makes The Beach Boys catalogue such an American treasure.
